Who WE Are

Our Dance Group

Floor Artists Crew was established 2009 by Ari Vang (Bboy Dream), Prince Vang (Bboy Style N9ne), Shernou Yang (Bboy Boogie 1), King Xiong (Bboy Oh-Mai), and Eugene Park (Bboy Daehon). Breaking was nearing the end of its peak during 2010 and the founders were on a mission to recruit the next up and coming bboys into Floor Artists so that they can hold and preserve the name with great pride.

For five years, Floor Artists Crew went from a small band of five bboys to eleven bboys, adding on the young, talented, and ambitious dancers to hold down the crew name. Richard Yang (Bboy Rich Flav), Bob Vue (Bboy Canon), Thai Vang (Bboy Jin), Chris Yang (Bboy Kixx Mixx), Billy Yang (Bboy Kill Bill), and Michael Vang (Bboy Like Mike).

With the reins in the hands of both the older and younger generation, Floor Artists Crew traversed California countless times in hopes of spreading their names. From Fresno to Sacramento and all the way to the Bay Area, Floor Artists Crew has made themselves known within the breaking community. And although they have not won as many competitions as they would have liked, the fire still burned deep within.

While the breaking community in Fresno died down, Floor Artists Crew did their best to keep their hopes up and their fire burning. They hosted their first official breaking competition in May of 2018 sending the message that Fresno bboys have not died out and that Floor Artists Crew was still thriving. During the Hmong New Years celebration of 2018, Floor Artists Crew went toe-to-toe with Soul Control Climax, a powerhouse crew from the old days of Fresno, Sactown Breakaholics, a rival crew of Floor Artists Crew from Sacramento, and many other talented dancers. While their efforts were noticed, Floor Artists Crew ended up losing the battle for 3rd place that day. However, in the following year of 2019, Floor Artists Crew would begin to their own seeds and seek more in their quest.

In 2019, Floor Artists Crew received an invitation to have an exhibition battle with Floor Dusters Crew, an old powerhouse crew from the Midwest. That entire year Floor Artists Crew trained hard for the up and coming battle. The battle was set during the Fresno Hmong New Years celebration in December. Over the course of the year, Floor Artists Crew recruited three new members into the team. Lalee Moua (Bboy Mouamentum), Brian Xiong (Bboy Slik), John Yang (Bboy Jibby), and Dawson Saephanh (Bboy Rawson). While the crew against Floor Dusters Crew was fierce and wild, the following year was not.

During the mass hysteria of the Covid-19 quarantine, human interaction was limited to almost zero. Every single park and spot to practice at was closed and the breakdancing community had to settle down. During such time, Floor Artists Crew had to limit their own interactions and sought to practice in their garages and even living rooms. It was rough for the time being and Floor Artists Crew did not give up.

From the following years of 2021 to 2024, Floor Artists Crew has had their sights set on broader horizons. With a new foundation to stand on, President Richard Yang, and Vice-President John Yang has been setting the reins on travelling once again. From Colorado to Minnesota, Floor Artists Crew has been slowly putting their influence into the breaking community once again through competition. Floor Artists Crew began branching out and seeking help from those outside of the breaking community as a means to raise awareness of urban culture, hip hop culture, mental health, and so much more.

Floor Artists Crew along with The Fresno Center has been hosting its very own breaking practice for the first time. And with the collective help of the entire crew, Floor Artists has been able to reach out and give their own shared knowledge to youngsters who also wish to break. With the current fruits culminating around Floor Artists Crew, we hope to share with the community the love and passion we have received from breaking and show everyone that the Fresno breaking community is alive and proud!
